''Hippotion roseipennis'' is a moth of the Sphingidae family. It is known from dry areas from KwaZulu-Natal and Mozambique to Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and south-western Ethiopia. The length of the forewings is 22–25 mm and the wingspan is 52–58 mm. It is a variable species. The ground colour of the body and forewings is very pale sandy to light ochreous-olive, lightly speckled with black in form ''exclamationis'', darker and heavily dusted with black in form ''austrinum''. The forewings have two parallel curved lines running from the inner margin to the apex and a dark wedge-shaped stigma. The hindwings are brownish and pinkish at the margin. The underside is light brown to light reddish-brown variously marked and speckled with darker brown. The larvae feed on the leaves of ''Rhoicissus tridentata''. ==References==
